Size 5 soccer balls are generally for older groups - age 12 and up and has a circumference of 27 to 28 inches. Size 4 soccer balls are generally for ages 8 to 12 and have a circumference of 25 to 26 inches. Size 3 are for young ones under age 8 and are 23 to 24 inches. A size 1 is also referred to as a mini or skills balls. This size is great for training and improving footwork of all ages. This circumference is 18 to 20 inches. 

Futsal balls are special soccer balls used for hard, indoor surfaces. They are smaller than a size 5 outdoor ball and are less bouncy.
